The Process
Commissioning a piece of custom furniture for your home transforms the space from being purely functional into a unique expression of who you are and how you live.
When you embark on creating your unique space, it is often difficult to find a piece that fits perfectly, either in colour, style or dimension. Which is why I take the utmost care in understanding you and your needs so that I can bring your ideas to life in exactly the way you envisaged.
The general steps taken in order to provide you with a custom bookshelf system are as follows:
Step One - Reach Out
Contact me via email or phone to share details about the item you want to create. From there we can identify a design and quote. Once connected, we can collaboratively determine a suitable design and provide a cost estimate. Additionally, you have the option to schedule a visit to the workshop, where you can see a fully assembled and functional bookshelf design, as well as engage in face-to-face discussions about your creative concepts.
Step Two - Price Estimate
Upon receiving the necessary details, we will furnish you with a rough estimate to give you an idea of the potential cost. If the estimate aligns with your budget, we can then move forward to the next stage of the process.
Step Three - Design & Quote
Explore a range of design options at your disposal, including the flexibility to tailor dimensions, shapes, features, and functions to meet your specific needs. Designs are not confined to pre-existing choices; they can be customized based on your unique preferences. After finalizing a design, I will furnish you with an official quote. Upon approval, a 50% deposit is necessary to confirm your order. Additionally, a lead time for the project will be communicated.
Step Four - Construction
This marks the initiation of transforming your concepts into reality. Ensuring your satisfaction throughout the process is a priority for me. Feel free to visit the workshop and witness the progression of your piece from its inception to completion. Your engagement in the process is valued, and I want you to enjoy this phase as much as I do.
